Daley College Professor Wins State Math Award May 1, 2002... A professor at Richard J. Daley College, Dr. M. Vali Siadat, has received the 2002 Distinguished Teaching Award of the Mathematical Association of America--Illinois Section. This is the highest form of state recognition awarded to a college teacher of mathematics. In 2001, this award was conferred upon Professor Paul Sally, a faculty member at the University of Chicago. Daley Faculty Wins Excellence in College Teaching Award Daley College mathematics professor Dr. M. Vali Siadat has won the 2001 Excellence in College Teaching Award of The Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The award recognizes his leadership and his influence on others in the field of mathematics. Dr. Siadat was honored at the annual conference of ICTM in October, 2001. Illinois Community College Board Award: Richard J. Daley College is the recipient of the 2001 Illinois Community College Board’s (ICCB) Award for Excellence in Learning- Centered Instruction for its initiative entitled The Keystone Method: A Synergistic Approach to Improving Student Performance. The award reflects the achievement of the Keystone method of teaching in mathematics classes at the college.

Winner of 1999 National Award for Exemplary Initiatives in Student Learning. Inspired by Plato's Republic, the Keystone Project at Richard J. Daley College has won the national award for Exemplary Initiatives in Student Learning from the National Council of Instructional Administrators (NCIA). The award was presented to the college faculty and administrators at the national convention of the American Association of Community Colleges in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 8, 1999.
