For the more than 200 International students enrolled at Harold Washington College each semester, the International Student Office provides general support services, academic advising, and assistance with the United States Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) , formerly known as Immigration and Naturalization Services (INS).

Read all the documents carefully. Print all attached applications,
fill them out, and send or fax them.

TESTING, PLACEMENT AND REGISTRATION INFORMATION

 

Step 1 - ROOM 101 - ADMISSIONS:
      Complete HWC application form and obtain student ID number.

Step 2 - ROOM 106 - INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADMISSIONS:
Speak to Ms. Yolanda Townsend to get permission to take placement test.

Monday through Thursday    9:30 am – 5:30 pm
Friday                               9:00 am – 4:30 pm
           

Immigrant and international students entering Harold Washington College for the first time need to take a placement test before registering for classes. The placement test has 3 parts: a multiple choice test, a written test and an oral interview.

  • Please come to Room 402 at least 15 minutes before testing begins.
  • Bring your student ID number, a picture id, a pen and 2 pencils.

 

Step 3~  Steps 1, 2, & 3 take at least 2 hours to complete  ~

 

Step 4 - ROOM 106 A - ORAL INTERVIEW AND PLACEMENT:
Meet with Ms. Jane Flottmeyer for an oral interview and course placement.
