Harold Washington College

The College & Department:

* Harold Washington College, located in exciting downtown Chicago, is one of the seven Chicago City Colleges.  The ESL department serves students from over sixty countries, both new immigrants and international students.
* The ESL curriculum covers low intermediate to advanced courses in grammar, writing, reading, listening and speaking.

Responsibilities:

* Day and evening classes available
* Hold regular office hours
* Attend two department meetings

Minimum Qualifications:

* Master’s Degree required in TESOL, English, Linguistics, or related field.
* Significant related ESL teaching experience and/or current enrollment in an appropriate Master’s degree program.
* Experience working with diverse student populations

Other Desired Qualifications:

* Curriculum development experience
* Experience with alternative assessment such as portfolios
* Current in use of evolving technologies and promoting critical thinking
* Experience teaching in a variety of delivery modes
