Art Department And Digital Multimedia DesignThe Art Department and DMD facilities include new labs and classrooms, along with major upgrades in equipment in the Fine Art area, Photography, and Digital Multimedia Design. Photography is equipped with new darkrooms, both color and black and white. The ceramics studio includes potter's wheels and kilns, and Digital Multimedia has two labs, along with a digital editing suite. The DMD lab is equipped with G5 Macintosh computers and flat screen monitors. The computer art lab is equipped with E-Mac computers, scanners, and color ink jet printers. Science DepartmentThe Science Department facilities include new labs and classrooms, along with major upgrades in equipment in Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. Music DepartmentThe Harold Washington Music Program is fast becoming one of the top two-year music programs in Illinois. Courses offered can lead to associates degrees in music performance or music education, basic certificates in music technology or music business, or to prepare students to transfer to a four-year institution. Private lessons are available for all instruments and vocal styles. The Music Program's facilities include a new recording studio and renovated practice rooms, classrooms, rehearsal hall, and piano lab. Computer LabsThe school has multiple computer labs for student use. The largest and most accessable to all students is the open computer lab located in room 404, with one hundred an thirty computers available for student use. ESL maintains a lab for students within the ESL program. Students have access to computers in the lobby of the building, as well on the second floor in the Student Lounge.
