U-Pass

U-Pass offers full-time students unlimited rides on any CTA bus or CTA trains during an academic term. Use your U-Pass on CTA bus/rail system anytime, anywhere, for any reason.U-PASS replaces cash for all CTA fares - no cash is needed.
U-PASS does not require a transfer or surcharge.
U-Pass is valid for travel on PACE suburban buses.

U-PASS is for full-time students only. (The cards of students who drop to part-time status will be deactivated.)
Rules & Conditions: U-Pass is limited to exclusive use by the original full-time student card owner. U-Pass may not be shared. If any conditions are violated, the pass will be confiscated for the remaining term without reimbursement.

U-Pass Distribution
Students can pick up their pre-printed U-Pass before each term, during a college determined scheduled time. At distribution, new program enrollees are photographed and that day, receive their card. If a student misses distribution, a college administrator will verify full-time status and complete a CTA U-Pass Issuance Application or Late Issuance form.

Lost U-Pass
If a student loses his/her U-Pass,
a new pass can be processed
ONLY at CTA’s Customer Service Center at 567 W. Lake Street, 2nd Floor.
The hours there are:
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is a replacement fee that must be paid ($35), and a valid school I.D. must be presented.

It will take 7-10 business days for the card to be replaced, and the card will be sent to the Office of Student Services at Harold Washington College, where it can be picked up, after a student presents a current and valid I.D. CTA will give the student a five-day unlimited ride transit pass to use in the interim.

The CTA will replace lost or stolen cards only once per academic term. Should the card be lost a second time, it is the financial responsibility of the student to cover the cost of transportation to and from college.
