“I was once, very recently a student here at Wright College, which I am very proud and appreciative of. In particular courses that I completed in the Department of Physical Sciences prepared and rocketed me into Pharmacy Career journey. The quality of Chemistry and Physics classes that I took allowed me to contend with students from other Colleges and Universities, and the competition was very stiff. I am most impressed with the way the teachers genuinely took interest in the academic future of their students. Under the guidance and help of Physical Sciences Department, I was able to attend and participate with other students in the 8th Annual Illinois LS-AMP Student Research Symposium held at Oak Brook Illinois. I met different students from different Colleges and Universities around Illinois, and also many different recruiting officials from these schools. Under the leadership of Dr. Kalaw of the Physical Sciences Department I won a scholarship of National Science Foundation. I was motivated and challenged to be a better student and a better person.
I will be graduating from UIC College of Pharmacy as a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) come May 2010. I intend to get my Ph.D. as a Clinical Pharmacist as well. I plan on becoming an Academic Pharmacist/Pharmacy store owner. This will not only give me freedom but also an opportunity to reciprocate the same type of nurture that has been given to me by the teachers in the Physical Sciences Department, here at Wright College. I would like to counsel Wright College Students who are interested in Pharmacy, I would be glad to share my experiences or crucial information I acquired in the process. My advice to students here: take whatever you’ve been taught here seriously, give your best and you shall get the best.”
