Workforce Investment Act (WIA)

As of July 1, 2000, Chicago has implemented the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA).  This new workforce legislation makes money available to unemployed persons through the One-Stop Centers.  Unemployed persons interested in training or other job search assistance can call the Pyramid Partnership, Inc. at 773/ 975-9898.  Certificate programs noted with the * are WIA-approved, making them eligible for WIA funding for individuals who qualify.
