Word power is a key to success. Learn and understand the correct usage of prefixes, suffixes, homonyms and synonyms. Enrich the meaning of words you think you know and learn meanings, antonyms and synonyms of new words to increase your vocabulary. Troubleshoot bothersome areas of spelling through helpful hints and drill. (Dictionary a plus.) Is your reading comprehension holding you back? This course will help you gain the confidence you need to succeed. Increase your abilities through reading activities. Skills covered include finding the main ideas and supporting details, following logical sequence of thought, and interpreting figurative language. ESL students will find especially helpful the meaning of figurative language--idioms, slang, figurative expressions and metaphors.
