| Kids' Swim Classes
Wright College Aquatic Staff members strive to create a fun-filled learning experience based on the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Program. All of our staff are certified instructors and lifeguards. ALL children's classes will be held at the North Campus pool, 4300 N. Narragansett. Please bring a swim cap and goggles to class. | Parent & Child Aquatic Program To develop in young children a high comfort level in and around the water. Parents go in the water. They will begin to learn basic swim skills that will prepare them for the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim Level I. Health Department mandates "NO DIAPERS." Only tight fitted plastic pants under the swimsuit. 12 sessions. $43 |

| Level
I: Introduction Of Water Skills This class is the first in the Red Cross learn-to-swim program. Children learn basic skills like supported floating on the front and back, underwater exhaling and breathing, and two forms of arm and leg action. To pass into Level 2, the child must show the ability to submerge face with eyes open for 3 full seconds and retrieve an object at arms length. The child must be 5 years or older to enter this class. 7 sessions. $60 |

| Learn
to Swim for Ages 9 to 15 (Please note: Swimmers aged 16 and older, see the adult catalog.) This class is designed for the non-swimmer as well as the child who can swim "a little." They will learn the skills of levels 1 and 2. 12 sessions. $85 |

| Level
II: Fundamental Aquatic Skills This level builds on basic movement learned in Level 1, then helps the child to swim front and back crawl with breathing. Changing direction and rolling from back to front, along with additional arm movements that are part of personal safety skills will further the student's ability to combine skills and become a better swimmer. This level will teach a child to know how to get help and recognize someone in distress. 7 sessions. $60 |

| Level
III: Stroke Development This level builds on skills learned in Level 2. Student will work on coordination for front and back crawl to further refine these strokes as well as being introduced to elements of the butterfly and fundamentals of treading water. Rules for head-first entries are taught along with the introduction of the diving progression. Life jacket skills are covered with the H.E.L.P. and Huddle positions. 7 sessions. $60 |

| Level
IV: Stroke Improvement
Must have Level 3 card
or learned skills to enter Level 4. Students will improve their skills
and increase their endurance by swimming front and back crawl for greater
distances. They will continue to build on butterfly and be introduced
to elementary backstroke, breaststroke and elements of sidestroke and
basic open turns at the wall. |

| Level
V: Stroke Refinement Must have Level 4 card or appropriate skills to enter this class. Students refine their performance of all the strokes (front and back crawl, butterfly, breaststroke, elementary backstroke and sidestroke) to increase their distances. Flip turns and survival swimming will be introduced. 7 sessions. $60 Ages 8 to 15 with appropriate skill level. |

| Level
VI: Swimming & Skill Proficiency Must have Level 5 card or appropriate skills. Level 6 is now the last level in the American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program. There are four sections to Level 6:

VII: Advanced Skills This is the last level in the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program. Students will perfect their strokes while developing good fitness habits. Springboard diving and advanced rescue skills will also be perfected. This class will give students a good basis for becoming a lifeguard. Ages 8 to 15. 12 sessions. $85 |

| Introduction
to Synchronized Swimming For youth with good basic water skills who want to build endurance, strength, flexibility and poise. In addition to conditioning and stroke refinement, this class will introduce basic synchronized swimming skills including precision and pattern swimming, sculling, and figures. Taught by a certified United States Synchronized Swimming Instructor. 7 sessions. $60 |

| Introduction
To Springboard Diving this class teaches basic diving skills: approach and hurdle, front and back dives, along with somersaults and twists. Students will progress at their level of readiness for advanced dives. Racing starts from the start blocks will be included in warm-ups with conditioning swims. Taught by a certified diving coach. Ages 10 to 16. 12 sessions. $85 |
