tips:
- The quadratic formula must be

it to solve equations, you must be able to write down the quadratic
formula, which would be ALL of the following:

- You may solve an equation by
any method if none is specified.
Be aware that factoring is often easiest, so you may want to
review factoring (Chpt. 6 or Review F).

- Study for Quiz 11, which will cover
Completing the Square, Section 12.1, and Section 11.8. (MathZone extra credit: Sections 11.8 and 12.1). Here are some tips for the quiz:
- The result of completing the
square is an expression in the form a(x h)2 + k (or, in "Part 1" it will only be (x h)2 + k). The result does does not look like "x = 5 or x = 2" unless you
are using completing the square as a technique, probably in sidework, to
solve an equation.
- In Section 12.1, the
Square Root Property says that x2 = c
is solved by x = √c or x = √c. Checking is not required to
use this method of "taking a square root of both sides." (This is different than squaring both
sides, Section 11.7, when checking is required.)
- Begin studying for the final exam. See Final
Review. Remember to take the
COMPASS test by Saturday, December 5. You may take the COMPASS test beginning Friday,
November 20.

- 11.6 # 21, 23, 29, 33, 35,
41, 45, 47, 55, 57, 63, 65, 67, 71, 75, 81

Sections 11.5, 11.6, and 11.7.
